How to connect your speakers with a gemini xga-5000 watt amp?
Im having trouble i need help i just bought a crossover and 2 amps and i got my mid high working though but when i wanna connect my brand new jbl subs 18″ on my gemini 5000 watt amp it doesnt work Im haveing sooooo much trouble. I need a answer fast! thank you
It’s pretty simple and straightforward although more details would be helpful because:
1. I don’t know what this is for – Sound reinforcement? Other?
2. I don’t know what kind of crossover you have, neither the brand name nor style – Passive? Active?
3. I don’t know what kind of speaker the JBL sub is. Passive? Active?
4. I don’t know what you are driving the crossover and amplifiers with – A mixing board? A DJ Mixer? Other?
Given that I have to do guesswork which rarely works for a definitive answer. I’ll have to assume it is a standard PA style setup as that is what JBL subs are usually used for. The mixer line out should go to the input on the active crossover. The low output on the crossover should go to the input for the amplifier connected to the sub which should be a passive speaker. If it’s an active speaker you will bypass the amplifier and plug the crossover directly into it. The high output on the crossover should go to the input of the amplifier that powers the top speakers. It’s as simple as that. You’ll have to set the controls on the crossover correctly of course.
