Teton Sports Mammoth 0-Degree Sleeping Bag Review
The Teton Sports Mammoth 0-Degree Sleeping Bag makes a perfect bag for your family camping trip. The Teton Mammoth bag is comfortable, warm, and big enough to accommodate nearly any camper, or even two or three. It features a soft cotton flannel lining and a temperature rating of 0 degrees fahrenheit.
Make sure you buy a bag that’s rated for the lowest temperature you might expect to face on your camping or backpacking trips. Summer trips will probably only require a bag that is rated at 35 degrees or higher. This will change if you are going to be camping at higher elevations, where you will need a bag that is rated for lower temperatures. If you plan on doing winter camping, look for bags that are rated as low as -10 degrees or more, just to be on the safe side.
The bag’s shoulder baffle and full-length zipper draft tubes, help keep the warmth in and the cold out. And if you really want to stay insulated, you will enjoy the adjustable mummy hood that can be pulled down tight for extra warmth.
What really stands out about this sleeping bag is the Mammoth’s massive size. It can comfortably hold a pair of adults along with a child, or even as many as four young children at once. Plus if one of the campers needs to exit the sleeping bag without disturbing their partner, they can simply and easily use the full-length zippers located on either side to quietly make their exit.

Teton Sports Mammoth 0-Degree Sleeping Bag Reviews:
Some of the pros for this bag are that it is warm, made of rough materials, contains all around zippers, and is a very comfortable bag with plenty of length to it. Taller people really have appreciated this. It is also made of natural colors, and has a nice mummy hood with it.
Some of the negatives for this bag are that it is quite large and bulky, can be slippery if placed on an air mattress, and as quite a few people have said, it is very hard to fold up and pack into its storage bag.
As the name implies, this bag is quite sizable and easily capable of holding multiple people depending on their size. One family was able to fit their family of four in it, and it succeeded in keeping them warm throughout their camping trip. The trade-off is that the sleeping bag is bulky and can be difficult to fold, and this reviewer stated that it was impossible to fit back in the original bag. It has a substantial weight to it, which may cause some to get tired when carrying it.
The bag has a temperature rating of 0 degrees, but it was mentioned that it may not be a good idea to camp outside in anything less than 10 degrees with this sleeping bag. As one couple purchased it to try winter camping for the first time, they were a little worried that it might not perform as indicated. The temperature was between 10 and 30 degrees the first night and it provided plenty of warmth, but the second night the temperature dropped and the couple was a little chilled that night.
Actually, the only bad review didn’t have anything to do with the sleeping bag itself, but an issue of not getting the bag shipped to them until it was too late, so they simply sent it back unopened. The bag is lined with soft flannel, has a built in layer that functions like a pillow for your head, and is of course very roomy. It does require some storage space though.
There are many great five star ratings for this sleeping bag, which everyone has stated as being very comfortable, and warm. Just plan on using two people if trying to store it, and be prepared for it to be quite a chore to put back in the storage bag. With that being the only real downside, this will work great for a couple or a small family.
