Thinking of buying a pedal, how have you come across it?
I’m thinking about buying a guitar pedal that has a nice heavy sound to it. I’ve played in the past with someones ZVex Vextron Mastotron Fuzz but I can’t seem to find it in stores. I also want to experiment with different other pedals out there, but wonder if it would be okay for stores to allow me to try it a bit before I buy? What has your experience been with this?
By a heavy tone im guessing your looking for a nice distorted sound, well if you want to get a pedal that is good all around then Ive always liked the Boss Metal Zone. It can cut through the mix pretty good and if you want to build on top of that then get a Boss Noise Suppressor to cut the excess hum and feedback. If your looking for a somewhat moderate heavy sound try the Boss Full Stack pedal which can go from that classic British Overdriven Amp like a Marshall Plexi or to the modern High Gain amps like a beefed up Peavey. Stores usually allow you to try a pedal before you buy, usually places like guitar center have booths for every brand to try each pedal, good luck looking for your pedal.
